FRIDAY 14TH
THE POWER OF TRUSTING GOD
-Pastor Olumese
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (MSG), “But blessed is the man who trust me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers – Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.”
Many times in your journey through life, you will face situations that might seem bigger than you. At such times, what will take you through to victory would depend on whether you have learnt to trust absolutely in God. God is the only absolutely dependable one in the entire universe. Human beings may promise heaven and earth, but they have a very high chance of failing you because all human beings are limited in themselves. If you live your life by placing your trust in people or in system, what would you do when you are disappointed?
Trusting in God erases the chance of being disappointed because God cannot fail. God may not come through based on your time table, but if you remain unshaken in your resolve to trust Him, He will not disappoint. Psalm 20:7-8a says, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright…” What I want you to see today is this: when you desire something good and it seems that there is nothing and no one within your natural reach that can help you, remember that you have access to help in the name of the Lord!
As a child of God, you have supernatural assistance available to you beyond what the natural eyes can see. God does not want you to give up on your dreams, He wants you to learn to trust in the invisible to produce tangible results. It is time to put Proverbs 3:5 into practice, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” I believe, God will come through for you today!
FURTHER STUDY: Isaiah 31:1, “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord.”
CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS, I WILL NOT LIMIT OR GIVE UP ON MY DREAMS BECAUSE I LACK PHYSICAL HELP OR HUMAN CONNECTION. MY TRUST IS IN THE ALMIGHTY GOD. I BELIEVE IN MY COLOURFUL DESTINY, AND WITH GOD, I WILL GET THERE!
ACTION POINT: When there is no one to help you, trust in God alone!
ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Psalm 10-12; Acts 19:1-20
