Music Traces: “Heights Not Feets” with MacNuel Davids.

Today We’ll be talking about “Heights Not Feets” An interaction that explains Focusing on what’s important to your artistic future, doing away with pride and embracing humility.

Over the years, Music Artists have ignorantly been carried away by temporary things, forgetting the precious stones ahead of them. At one point of everyone’s career, distractions are bound to come your way. It is wisdom if you get focused on your journey to the top. As an artist always be careful and don’t be too anxious to place success tags on your endeavors because that hinders both your internal and external growth, especially when you place the tags wrongly. Building your empire requires so many things and so much time all together, yet it takes just few things to bring down that which has already been built. The Present day Clothing of Artists is “PRIDE”. It has eaten up 3/4 of Majority of Up & Coming Artist. Pride is a souvenir that comes with achievements, wise people don’t give in to it. I’m not against priding in what you do, but you ought to also know that little stones makes the soup sandy.

Pride in Anyway Kills Faster Than poison. Let me point this out here; As an Up and coming artist if you think because you have a hit single or multiple hit singles, or because you have an album, you’re better off, You have a shallow and Myopic understanding of the industry you want to dominate in. Having mind blowing single songs released is always awesome. But that is just a means to an end and not an end in itself. Capitalizing on it as an “achievement” is signing out your industrial relevance. Not every artist get away with pride in their veins. There are few lucky ones around that made it to limelight. but why would you rather want to strive to be lucky when you can Glory into your dreams without a hitch of pride. Humility is an important element you need to ingest, Imbibe and make your Per-Second Friend. A lot of benefits are attached to it and only few patient people are beneficiaries of the fruits it produces. Humility is an important element you need to ingest, Imbibe and make your Per-Second Friend.

A lot of benefits are attached to it and only few patient people are beneficiaries of the fruits it produces. No matter how long a lizard tries to stay in water, it can never become a crocodile. Hanging around “A” list Artists, taking selfies with them & having a relationship with them won’t make you fulfilled. You’ve got to work on yourself & fight your way to the top to be like them. You’ve lost it all the moment you begin to belittle any artist within your domain, instead, create a friend-zone, share ideas and rapport as often times as you should. It’s more exciting when you grow and celebrate each other. Conclusively, don’t ever think you’re better off your contemporaries. Your Released singles, Invitation to Perform on Great PlatForms and relationship with Top Level Artists are of little significance to your growth. Your priority should be getting better by the day.

The music industry, there’s never a finish line. Where you call top level today will be tagged ground level tomorrow. Be Humble and have a big picture mentality. Resist What is Temporal, Go for what would Stand the Test of time. It was a great session today, thank you for being part of January’s Edition.

It’s always a privilege for me to share great insights with you all. Same time Next week we’ll talk about “Platforms begets Growth” Have A Most Productive Week! MusicTraces

MUSIC: THE MOST HIGH CHANT – EMMANUEL EZEASOR

Fast rising gospel artiste Emmanuel Ezeasor drops a new single for the year titled “The Most High Chant”

In his words: “The Most High Chant was inspired in my place of worship, while i began to sing conventional but powerful worship songs I suddenly started hearing this lines on very different and high pitches as unto the voices of thousands… the more it kept coming, I joined in the chorus and reached out to my phone to record it. I knew this were the voices of Angels in worship. The Most High Chant is not a figment of any mans wisdom or plans it was inspired by heaven.”

Day 3
The Artistic Preference Scale

As an artist, you get involved into a lot of things. You chase your artistic profession, your fame, world class songs, all of these is important as so, we’ll be looking at how you can focus on the important.

Every Artist wants to be heard.
As an artist, if you’re centered around a lot of things you’ll miss it.
Defining your process makes your strive for the top easy. It’s true you have to work on a lot of things, but you have to break your dreams into bits.

Just the same way you cant lit a dark room without carrying out an action, same way you can’t get to the top without doing a specific action, consistently.
You need to define your vision with goals & working on these goals in bits to accomplish great feats(dreams).

Doing Everything is doing nothing. Doing One thing is being focused on a course. This doesn’t mean there is no place for multitasking but truth is You can only achieve prompt greatness when you define your priorities, knowing which one comes before the others.

It’s common in Africa, where you have a growing artists not focusing on Voice Development or Creating His/Her Niche. They get always plan on getting an album produced, lunching it, getting funds & going over the same process over again. This is So Wrong!

You can’t tell me the process of writing a book is by Printing Copies… No!
There is a process.
Getting an Album In “our” circle of mediocrity, This is what “we” call “Growth”.
I’ll disagree to this any day!

What we Africans fail to understand is that No professional artist had money at the back of their minds in their journey to stardom. The music industry requires a lot of investments, until you’re ready, you can’t be a professional in the industry.

What is expedient to do as a growing artist is:
1. Getting your Voice Ready
2. Creating your niche
3. Building your Fan Base
What ever you do should rally round These things irrespective of the society you belong and your kind of music.

Techniques on How to get your Voice ready depends on what works for you. Examine your voice and be sure of what works for you. Click on this link to read about “The Singers’ Instrument”

Your fan base is the most valuable asset you can get as an artist. Your fan base comprises of People who love what you do, who believe in you. They are your first marketers. Once they love what you do, they get to sell you to anybody they come across.

Focusing on releasing singles should be the priority of any growing artist.
Releasing singles comes with a lot of benefits:
•It Announces you as an artist anytime you do.
•Builds your Dimension of Music on their minds.
•Grants you exposure as an upcoming artist.

Conclusively, There’s never a time where you out grow the release of singles. It follows you down to being a professional. Making plans to release your songs as singles is an investment a lot of growing artist seem not to understand.

We’ve come to the peak of today’s interaction. Remember: It’s still beautiful to have a big picture thinking but breaking it down into achievable processes based on the most important helps you record more successes. Always get focused.

It will be my pleasure to have you tweet at us or drop your questions & contributions.
