TOPIC: Powerless Christians (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 15 February 2019)

The MESSAGE:
Powerlessness in the body of Christ is the reason believers who should be healing the sick are busy looking for healing. Many of such come to healing services with their drugs still kept in their bags (with the plan to use them after service). Lack of faith also engenders lack of power. It is also the reason that believers who should be on fire for God and casting out demons in the lives of the oppressed are themselves busy moving in and out of deliverance ground every month. It is also the reason that servants are riding upon the horses of destiny of so many believers. The reason many people who are supposed to be multi-millionaire are wallowing in poverty and several others cannot possess their possession is also powerlessness.
Why is this so? Failure to crucify the flesh. There is no way anyone being ruled by the flesh and his carnal nature can be free indeed. The carnally minded cannot gain maximally from spiritual things. An English proverb says that you cannot eat your cake and have it. When your activities are mostly those that empower the flesh at the expense of your spirit, you will not be able to boast of meaningful spiritual power or great things for yourself and for others.
You can’t do good works without power. You can’t bear fruits and win souls without power. You can’t build God’s kingdom without power. The kingdom of God is in power and not in words. The Bible encourages us to covet spiritual gifts. Do you? Those who have the gifts are using them to the glory of God first paid the price? Spiritual power and exploits do not just come by fluke. You must be willing to pay the price! Resolve today that you will not be a shadow of yourself.
Christ demonstrated God’s power to the casternation and astonishment of His enemies and detractors. He delegated His power and authority to His true followers. Bid powerlessness farewell and take your place in destiny. Your place is to heal and not to beg for healing. It is to deliver others and not to be parading the deliverance ground monthly in search of deliverance. It is time you got baptised with the fire of the Holy Ghost in order to be all God has created you to be.
Another reason is prayerlessness. Everything man needs and will ever need is in Christ. The more your prayer life diminishes or wanes, he more spiritual power reduces. It is God’s presence is better imagined than experiences.
Do you have a distaste for studying and meditating on the word of God? You are not likely to go far in your Christian journey because the word of God is the presence of power, wisdom and every good thing a Christian desires. If you love the world and your belly is your God, then forget about receiving, wielding and demonstrating God’s power. Seymour prayed fervently and pioneered the Azusa street revival. Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola prayed and paid the price for spiritual power. His ministry exploits remain a reference point till date. John Knox asked, “Give me Scotland or I die”. His cry brought revival and reformation to Scotland. Beloved, the whole world awaits your manifestation!
