“Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” or, as it was originally subtitled “Merry Christmas to You” is a classic Christmas song written in 1945 by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé.

But Nat King Cole first recorded the song in June 1946. He recorded the song again in August 1946, in 1953 and in 1961, with a notable and laudable history attached to it. Other artists have also done their respective covers of the song. However, none of the previously done versions overshadows the uniqueness of this version.

Imo State-born Abuja-based Christian music artist, singer and songwriter Ijenma Johnson-Ejiasa well known as I-Jay Johnson is out with a new single titled Kujuorom Ikom translated to mean Fill My Cup.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, the singer revealed that at a point where she was praying & asking God for an uplift in life was when the song came to her like an answer to her prayers.
Speaking further, she made it known that the song is a prayer for God to purge & make us good & honourable vessels for God’s use as seen in 2Timothy 2:21. Only good & honourable vessels can get filled as Matthew 9:14-17 made it known that No one puts new wine into old wineskins.

Idowu Eyin – So Good

Gospel music minister Idowu Eyin is out with a new single titled “SO GOOD”,  a heavy percussion song that instils a joyous gyration mood.

Idowu Eyin exalts and pours accolades on Jehovah while reassuring of the defence the name of God is to everyone who trusts in Him. The Afrocentric gyration tone of the song further strengthens the theme of joy and gladness.

“Addicted to Jesus” are the very words that describe Idowu Eyin, the UK-based gospel music artist. She is an entrepreneur, wife, minister, ambassador, activist, children’s rights advocate and fashionista.

She started singing before the age of eight but released her first official single in 2016. This was followed up with an 8-track album and 6 music videos.

Idowu is a born winner. She is a survivor of the LPR condition (Laryngopharyngeal reflux), a type of acid reflux that affects the larynx (vocal area). She developed 2 massive cysts on her vocal cords as a result of this condition and had to undergo surgery to remove them. She attributed the success of the medical procedures to the “God Factor” in her life.

A few months after the surgery, she ministered at 2 concerts – the Tasha Cobbs Live in Concert and Synergy 2017. She also went on to release 2 more singles. She is also an AGMMA 2018 award winner for Best Video for the song “Jesus is Alpha and Omega” featuring Purist Ogboi and St. Andrew.

The Gospel music minister who also doubles as an ambassador for Charity organisations sponsoring children in Senegal, Niger and Uganda,  is currently working on several music projects to be released in the coming year.

Nigeria-based gospel artiste and songwriter, Celiono finally shares her first single of the year and she did not disappoint, as usual, she titled this one “Jump Over”.

The “Orovwori” crooner, who is still basking in the euphoria of her debut EP which was widely accepted, has dished out another praise jam with “Jump Over”.

“Jump Over” is a mid-tempo highlife laced groove. It is prophetic and assuring of the power of God to save and deliver. It is also a thanksgiving offered in advance. It expresses gratitude and appreciation to The Highest for his consistency.

“Jump Over” is one of those songs suitable to kick off the day with, either during the early morning drive to work or during chores.

Born Celina Onoriode Ejemai, she is a native of Agbarho in Ughelli North Delta state. She is a graduate of Delta State University where she studied Economics. She is a member of R.C.C.G. and an Investment Executive.

Celiono’s genre is mainly Contemporary Gospel music and Traditional Folk music , which she blends with the rich African dialect and rhythm to birth great songs of praise and worship.

Her releases in recent times include “Kpevwo Ghene,” “Oghene Ose Woruno,” “Ife Fe,” “Eledumare,” “Spirit Move” and the album “Orovwori”
