THURSDAY 7TH
ROOTED AND CONNECTED: SHARE THE JOYS AND FEEL THE PAIN OF OTHERS
-Pastor Olumese
1 Corinthians 12:26 (TPT), “In that way, whatever happens to one member happens to all. If one suffers, everyone suffers. If one is honoured, everyone rejoices.”
If you want to get the best out of the opportunity to be in different kinds of relationships, you must allow yourself to share the joys of others when they are joyful, and to also present a shoulder to lean on when others may be going through painful moments.
Look at what 1 Corinthians 13:4 (TPT) says, “Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievement nor inflate its own importance.” I want you to notice those parts I underlined and think about them.
When someone is going through pain, be gentle and consistently kind. Refuse that urge to make them feel worse by excessively pointing out their errors. When someone has reason to celebrate, just celebrate. Don’t downplay other people’s success. Let your presence in people’s lives lead them to experience peace in the midst of pain and inspire them to go from success to success.
FURTHER STUDY: Proverbs 17:17, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS; I STAND BY THOSE I AM IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH. I DISPLAY LOYALTY AND RELIABILITY IN ALL MY RELATIONSHIP. I HELP THOSE IN PAIN AND I REJOICE WITH THOSE WHO ARE REJOICING. I AM A TRUE FRIEND.
ACTION POINT: Put loyalty and unshakeable love in your relationships!
ONE YEAR BIBLE PLAN: Leviticus 1-3; Matthew 24:1-28
