TUESDAY 5TH

DEALING WITH ADDICTIONS AND SINFUL TENDENCIES
-Pastor Olumese

Psalm 119:9&11 (MSG), “How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your word… I have banked your word and promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt.”

In Christ, you have been raised unto a life of dominion. God does not want you struggling under addictions and He has made adequate provision for your victory! Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Addictions always seek to place a person under the dominion of sin, vices and lust, but you can live in freedom above all these.
Firstly, you have to believe that you have the life of God in you! Secondly, you have to believe in the potency of this eternal life to stop sin from reigning in your life! Romans 5:21 says, “So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!” What you must know is that there can only be one king on the throne! Sin can only reign when eternal life is not in place. But once eternal life takes the throne, sin is automatically dethroned!

FURTHER STUDY: Romans 6:17-18 (GNB), “But thanks be to God! For though at one time you were slaves to sin, you have obeyed with all your heart the truths found in the teaching you received. You were set free from sin and became the slaves of righteousness.”

CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS; I AM NO LONGER A SLAVE TO SIN. I LIVE AND OPERATE WITH ETERNAL LIFE, SIN HAS BEEN DETHRONED IN MY LIFE! GLORY TO GOD!

ACTION POINT: Walk in the newness of life!

ONE YEAR BIBLE PLAN: Exodus 36-38; Matthew 23:1-22
